The Course
PARK WOOD GOLF CLUB

Hole 1
A straight forward opening hole but beware of the ditch in front of the green.

Hole 2
A short par 5 with hidden bunkers on the right side of the fairway with a tight approach shot.

Hole 3
A long par 4 uphill that always plays longer than it looks.

Hole 4
A good tee shot is needed at this slightly doglegged par 5 with a downhill approach shot.

Hole 5
A narrow driving hole with an accurate approach needed for this par 4.

Hole 6
An excitingly long par 3, keep the tee shot to the left of the green.

Hole 7
A well laid out par 4. The tee shot should carry the hollow on the left to position you nicely for the approach.

Hole 8
A great par 3 with excellent views. An accurate tee shot is a must.

Hole 9
A difficult par 4. Aim to dogleg this hole as it is 'out of bounds' from tee to green on the right.

Hole 10
Another good tee shot required to set up your second shot. Watch the run to the right throughout this hole.

Hole 11
A gentle downhill par 4 with 'out of bounds' to the right, and a ditch guarding the green.

Hole 12
A fantastic hole with great views from the tee. A downward tee shot and a dogleg to the green.

Hole 13
An uphill par 4 with an elevated green guarded by deep bunkers to the right and the left.

Hole 14
A chance for birdie. Index 18 but ensure you carry the pond on this slightly upward sloping hole.

Hole 15
A tough downhill par 4 with a long second shot to a slightly elevated green.

Hole 16
A long par 5 requiring three good shots, all uphill with a small blind green to find.

Hole 17
A difficult par 3 with the ground running from left to right throughout.

Hole 18
A tough finishing hole with a tee shot placed left of centre needed in order to see the green. A slightly uphill approach to the final hole.
After use, bunker rakes should be placed outside the bunker.
To be kept well away from teeing and greenside areas. Buggies are not allowed in the car park.
Please replace your divots, repair your pitch marks and if you visit any bunker, use a rake.
150 & 100 yard markers are to the centre of the green.
Play at a good pace. Ready Golf is actively encouraged.
Greens staff and the public (on bridle paths) have priority on the course. The ball must not be played when they are in range. Greens staff will give way when practical and safe. Please wait until they are out of range, or you are called through.
If you hit a wayward shot, shout “FORE”. If in doubt, please shout.
Etiquette
• Beyond any white marker stakes, fences, footpaths or hedges bounding the course.
• 3rd Hole. On or beyond the road that runs parallel to the hole.
• When playing the 8th hole, that part of the 13th hole defined by white stakes is out of bounds. When playing the 13th hole, these stakes are immovable obstructions.
• On or over the pathway behind the 9th / 18th green. In the direction of the 1st hole, this lasts for the duration of the path. In the direction of the Golf Academy, the out of bounds applies until you reach a white stake.
• Beyond the white stakes to the left of the 9th hole that continue to the path behind the 9th / 18th green.
• When playing the 18th hole, a ball finishing on or beyond the 9th fairway is out of bounds, if it is not beyond the line between the two blue stakes.
• The driving range as defined by the white marker stakes.
• Over the fence bounding the reservoir between the 8th, 14th and 15th holes.
Young trees, identified by stakes or artificial supports, are No Play Zones. If a player’s ball lies anywhere on the course, except in a penalty area and it lies on or touches such a tree or the tree or its supports interferes with the player’s stance or area of intended swing, the player must take relief, without penalty, under 16.1f.
All sprinkler heads and control covers are immovable obstructions and relief from interference may be obtained under rule 16.1b. In addition, if a ball lies off the putting green, but not in a penalty area and such an obstruction is on or within two club-lengths of the putting green and within two club-lengths of the ball and intervenes on the line of play between the ball and the hole, the player may take relief under Rule 16.1b.
If a player’s ball lies in or touches an area defined as G.U.R. or if the area interferes with the player’s stance or the area of their intended swing, then the player MUST take relief from interference without penalty. If any bunker contains a G.U.R. sign, then the entire bunker is ground under repair.

"Fantastic round of golf on a very nice course. After the horrendous rain we've had I was worried but the course drained well and the green keepers have done all they can to protect the fringes. Course has one of the trickiest set of par 3s I've ever played, which made the course fun and challenging. Will definitely return."
